Return policy

It’s OK to change your mind. If you’re not satisfied with your IKEA purchase you can return it within 365 days, together with proof of purchase, for a full refund. Refunds will be made in the same form of payment originally used to make the purchase.

Returning unopened IKEA products

Return the unassembled, unused and undamaged products in their original packaging within 365 days, together with your original receipt for either an exchange or a full refund.

IKEA products that can’t be returned​

Our 365-day return policy does not apply to cut fabric, plants, used beddings, kitchen/electrical appliances, products from AS-IS, food products, goods ordered to your specifications e.g. custom-made worktops, damaged items resulting from misuse, abuse, normal wear & tear and incorrect self-assembly and products damaged after leaving the store.


‘Love it or exchange it’ mattress exchange policy

When it comes to mattresses, we offer something special. Your comfort is important to us, and we want you to love your new mattress. If, within the 365 days from the day of purchase, you find that it is too firm or too soft, simply bring back the mattress and try out a new one. There's no rush. Provided IKEA does not find the goods to be dirty, marked, damaged or abused.


How to return at IKEA

In-store return

  • Visit our Exchanges & Returns area at an IKEA store when you need to return something. Thanks to our 365-day return policy the process is usually smooth – just bring along your original receipt.

Online order return

  • Return products to one of our IKEA stores
    • Please bring a printed copy of the tax invoice you received via email after purchase.
  • Return products via Collection Point in East Malaysia
  • Return West Malaysia parcel order
  • Return East Malaysia parcel order
    • Use the return shipping form provided in the parcel.
    • Do not misplace them or you'll have to purchase a new one.

How to request a refund at IKEA

Refund for in-store purchases

  • Bring your original receipt and products in their original packaging.
  • Refund will be made in it's original payment method:
    • Purchases made with cash will be refunded in the form of cash
    • For purchases made with a credit card, credit will be issued to the original card. The original card must be presented at the time of return.
